I’m planning on embarking on a new journey, a journey towards a new hobby. What hobby is that? Bead jewelry making. I have yet to start on it. I don’t even know when I’ll be able to start! But this early, I am already starting to stock up on various supplies. One supply I have stocked up on is lucite beads in shades of orange and red. Why did I choose those colors? Well, I just thought the colors were so rich and vibrant and would definitely add an extra splash of refreshing colors to whatever design I come up with. Actually, the store where I bought the beads had a whole assortment of equally vibrant colors like blue, green, yellow, purple and of course my favorite, pink! For example, I added Swarovski versions to these earrings in my store These rhinestones come either glueless or as hot fix versions where you can use a special tool to heat up and activate the glue at the back. The hot fix ones are best for porous materials like fabrics and paper. You’ll have to use a good glue for attaching the non-hot fix ones to slick surfaces such as metal etc. The above is Carlyjcais’ Gossip Girl Inspired Crystal Mesh Earrings which she made by gluing the rhinestones onto tulle and fabric. There are different tools available to attach hot fix crystals. One example is called the Bejeweler Pro. It works for most porous and some non-porous items.
